The Advanced Technologies Academy was built with bond money from the Clark County School District. It opened in 1994 as the first fully computer networked technology school in the State of Nevada. It is a comprehensive magnet school offering eight program areas in business, computer technologies and law. The academy houses 800 computers with a student:teacher ratio of 21:1 and a computer:student ratio of 1:1 in all core and program area classes. Participation in a rigorous eight period schedule requires the student to be focused, develop good study habits, time management and organizational skills. The academy continues to be recognized by the State of Nevada for outstanding performance and test scores. Approximately 75% of graduates enroll in colleges and universities.
