Abstract
After reading the story Meet Samantha from the American Girl (historical fiction) Series students will further study and compare the lifestyles of people living in the Turn of the 20th Century vs. the Turn of the 21st Century. Students will research in partners an aspect of lifestyles from these time periods collecting information from a variety of web sites and other resources. Students will use the Inspirations Program to facilitate in brainstorming their "lifestyle" topic, ie., jobs, schools, recreational activities, toys, clothes, music, transportation, etc. Students will utilize the writing process throughout this unit, ultimately creating a final multimedia project. Information gathered and presented in a slide show on Kid Pix will be the final assessment for this unit. This unit will take approximately 6 weeks to complete. This unit will be taught by the classroom teacher and the Educational Computing Strategist.
