Abstract
Instructor will provide students with a recipe for making their product. However, the recipe will give no specific amounts of reactants. The recipe will provide general procedure and lab safety considerations. After recieving their recipes the students will research the physical properties, chemical properities, and safety considerations of the reactants and products.

Abstract
Instructor will provide students with a recipe for making their
product. However, the recipe will give no specific amounts of
reactants. The recipe will provide general procedure and lab safety
considerations. After recieving their recipes the students will
research the physical properties, chemical properities, and safety
considerations of the reactants and products.

Prerequisite Skills
1. Students must have a knowledge of chemical bonding. 2.
Students must be able to write formulas and equations. 3. Students
need to be able to use the internet to conduct research of
properties.

day
Materials/ Resources: Labs giving the reactants to make the
specfic students' products.
Pre-lesson Preparation: Instructor
should reserve computer access prior to class.
NOTE: The
instructor may again choose to do this portion of the project
outside the stoiciometry unit timeframe. Suggestion: Do this portion
during the Chemical formulas and compounds unit.

2. Worksheet and
evaluation for step # 2
Student Activity/Tasks 1. Students will
given a "recipe" for making their product, which has no specific
amounts of reactants.
2. Students research the properties of the
reactants and products using the internet.
3. Students research
safety considerations of reactants and products.
4. After
researching students may need to redefine qualities of product based
on properties' research.
