Representation
Mathematics instructional programs should emphasize mathematical representations to foster
understanding of mathematics so that all students
- Create and use representations to organize, record, and communicate mathematical ideas
- Develop a repertoire of mathematical representations that can be used purposefully,
flexibly, and appropriately
- Use representations to model and interpret physical, social, and mathematical phenomena.
Please use the menu on the left to guide you to a wealth of standards based curriculum
materials for Mathematics. The lessons are being developed by teams of teachers
across the country working with the "Career Connection to Teaching with
Technology" Challenge Grant.
Here are some sample activities
developed by teachers and students at Mainland High School this past summer. |
